CLEVELAND, Ohio – Johnny Cash’s influence cut across just about every musical genre, and that surely showed Friday night as the Rock & Roll of Fame paid homage to the 21st Annual Music Masters recipient.
The performers at Playhouse Square’s State Theatre included everyone from X, a legendary punk band, to Paul Cauthen, whom Rolling Stone named the country artist to watch, to Nikki Lane, “the first lady of outlaw country” to Americana siren Eilen Jewell to Social Distortion founder Mike Ness to veteran country vocal band the Oak Ridge Boys.
