For the first time on a Western series, Johnny Cash played a villain: one of two gruff marauders who runs afoul of The Rebel’s hero, Johnny Yuma. Cash’s presence extended beyond this episode; in 1959, he sang the song’s famous theme song for a single. (It can be heard on the album Ring Of Fire: The Best Of Johnny Cash.)
