The first Johnny Cash Music Festival, which was filmed last year, will be shown as a one-hour television special on three networks this summer. In addition, a Johnny Cash Music Festival 2011 DVD and live CD will go on sale July 31st, featuring live performances from the event. All proceeds will benefit the Johnny Cash Childhood Home Project.
Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash and John Carter Cash are featured in the special, along with music and stories about the country legend. The TV special will air first on RFD-TV on July 26th at 7 p.m. ET, and then again on July 28 at 6 p.m. ET. Next, GAC will broadcast the show on July 28th at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, PBS affiliates will air the program throughout the summer.
