The Winding Stream, the 90-minute film from Beth Harrington that traces the rise of country music pioneers the Carter Family, is coming to video on-demand and DVD on May 17. Harrington started working on the film in 2001 and interviewed numerous Carter family members as well as Johnny Cash, who married June Carter. In this exclusive clip from the film, Cash tells the story of when June “stole his heart” at the Grand Ole Opry and how her family’s music taught him to play guitar.
Also out next week is The Highwaymen Live – American Outlaws, an extensive live collection from the country supergroup with Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.
